Foo Fighters – Greatest Hits | Guitar music that always works

Foo Fighters actually began in 1994 as a one-person project.

After Nirvana ended, Dave Grohl went into a studio and recorded almost every instrument on the first Foo Fighters demos himself. Only afterwards did a real band grow around those songs.

From one musician to a catalogue full of stadium songs

By the time Greatest Hits appeared in 2009, Foo Fighters were no longer a side project. The collection brought together songs such as Everlong, Learn to Fly, Best of You and The Pretender.

Grohl did say at the time that he felt a greatest-hits record was still a little early. The release also included new material, including Wheels. So it became not an ending, but a snapshot of where the band stood.
