Wanting to be seen — and being watched
According to Froukje, the title has two sides. On one hand, there is the desire to be seen. On the other, being watched all the time can also feel suffocating.
She writes a lot from her own life and relationships, but has explained that not every detail has to be literally autobiographical. Sometimes fiction creates just enough distance to say something more honestly.
