Muse – Origin Of Symmetry | Think big, play loud

Origin of Symmetry sounds as if Muse deliberately refused to set themselves limits.

For the sessions, the band first worked with David Bottrill and later again with John Leckie. Several studios were used, but for one track even that was not enough.

A church organ for Megalomania

For Megalomania, Matt Bellamy wanted a real church organ. The band therefore travelled to a church in Bath to record the instrument there. It perfectly suits the way the album was made: if something needed to sound big, it was allowed to be genuinely big.

Live energy was important too. Muse recorded several songs together as a band, then added overdubs and effects. Bellamy used, among other things, a custom Manson guitar with built-in fuzz.
